15 Weeks Pregnant | Baby #2

Well, I’m exhausted, I still feel sick, I’m constantly needing a wee, and it’s been too blinking hot. Last week I thought the ALL DAY nausea was easing off and then I woke up on Tuesday morning with the worst headache and sickness I’ve had in a really long time. Thankfully Alex was able to adjust his timetable to look after Rowan whilst I spent the afternoon in bed with a bag of frozen vegetables on my head (it was a bag of peas for those interested), oh the glamour!

15 Weeks Pregnancy Update | mummy.co.uk

I promise that these weekly updates won’t be all negative. I’m trying to remain positive and hoping the pregnancy glow will  appear in the next few weeks, I’ve seen little glimpses through the exhaustive haze, I think.

Right let’s get more positive. Baby is now the size of a pear and weighs around 2.47 oz according to the manuals. The bump is definitely looking more bump like and I’ve felt a little bit more movement this week, on the night of the storm I got a little scared, it was so loud and my adrenaline was going, then I definitely felt a proper punch which was lovely and I can’t wait to feel more very soon. I’ve also been able to eat a larger variety of food as the aversions have dramatically decreased and that’s definitely a winner in my books.

On Thursday I have my 16 week midwife appointment (I’m actually 16 weeks on the 21st September so I will delay the writing of the 16 week update until I’ve seen the midwife). I’m really excited, yet a little anxious and I really hope she’ll check for babies heartbeat so I can have a little listen and ease a few worries.

At the moment we’re struggling to come up with a name for bump that isn’t just ‘Bump’. When pregnant with Rowan we called the bump ‘Olive’, only because we were reading one of the many pregnancy books we’d purchased and one particular week the baby was the size of an olive and the name stuck. Nothing has really jumped out at us this time so I feel a bit guilty. For those of you that have had a baby or are pregnant did/do you have a name for your bump?

If there’s anything you’d like me to include in my weekly pregnancy update let me know as I’m still trying to figure out what to write about each week, any ideas would be gratefully received. Also, in case you missed it I published my first maternity style post last weekend and I’ll be doing more over the next few weeks.

Congratulations! We called my bump bump and I loved it! I didn’t like peanut or some of the more popular names. It helped that I loved my pregnant shape I think and I wanted to celebrate my bump!

Thanks so much. There are some really strange names out there for baby bumps, I love your thinking of just calling bump bump 😀 x

We called ours Ziggy partly in tribute to one of my husbands favourite artists at the time I was pregnant- was considering it as a boys name, lucky baby turned out to be a girl!
